Anyone fished the lower Skagit? If so what were the launches like, I've heard so many mixed reports. Any info much appreciated.

The Holiday Sport Shop says the only clear water is above the Sauk right now, and that the lower river is still muddy. Plunkers are enjoying good action, though.

Still pretty dirty above the Sauk, as of today, Friday 10/31. And still fairly high.

Well I don't know what to say but, MUDDY, MUDDY, & MUDDY. I went today 10/31 and it was basically just a boat ride.

Drove up the river today. Baker is pumping in mud, Sauk is pumping mud. The Skagit dams still are ful of mud as even the upper river is too muddy to fish. Ended up fishing the Cascade below the hatchery. Full of fish, too bad they are all red and dark. Caught 8-9 buucks on a jig under a float before I realized that there weren't any reasonably bright fish. Lot of guy were keeping the boots. I guess youu can smoke anything. Lot of snagged fish, but the guys were mostly putting them back.
I think the Skagit will be a mudhole for a couple more weeks.
