has anyone tried the berkley ironsilk line for steelheading just looking for a good line to use this year been useing McCoy mean green

My dad has it on his spinning reel and he really likes it.

I used that line and liked it until I discovered that after breaking off a snag it's knot strength is reduced by 50% or more.

Looking for info on different types of line. I am sure this has been discussed at length. Where and how can this be done? I brand new at using forums and chat rooms on the internet. Any help will be appreciated.
