I plan to float the Satsop on Saturday and will launch at the gravel bar above cook creek. the sweeper mentioned is about 2 river miles below? What side of the river would be best for fording the tree?

Thanks for your help

Scott

Scott,

Can you launch at the gravel bar? It was my understanding that it was closed. I'm really hoping it isn't though.

the sandbar is closed, but I think that some folks (locals) are still using it. the tree is portage on the left as you look downriver. hope that helps.

The gate is closed; the owner closed the access due to trash, partiers, etc. Rumor has it the owner sold a limited number of keys for access.
Scott, just stay to the left side of the channel it is not that big of deal at the current flows, could be a real problem in higher water.
