I can't wait. I'd love to hook up with someone on the Hoh or @#*#$ Saturday morning. Gotta be back to the cabin by noon so it'd be a morning deal. Cuttie

I don't know that second river. It must be a zipper.

I might be able to swing that. What time would you be leaving that morning? If you gotta be home by noon, how many hours would that afford us to fish?

I can be on the river as early as 6. I'll be staying with some family at Kalaloch. I need to be back to Kalaloch by noon. That would give us at least a few hours on the water.

Are you planning on being up that far north the whole weekend? I was thinking of making the drive to your neck of the woods on Sunday but the hoh is a bit much for one day.

Oh, I thought you were making the drive from Olympia. I don't want to drive that far half-asleep by myself. I've never fished the Hoh and would like to someday with someone that knows where to bank it.

I understand Harley. However, I'd love to show you the ropes come steelhead season. I know the Hoh pretty well as far as bank spots are concerned. However, from what I've heard, the last high water changed those spots drastically. I've never fished it for hatchery fish but I've had some stellar days there come February/March. Remind me this upcoming winter. Cuttie

It better not be MY spot periwinkle.. Just kidding. It's all good However, I wouldn't bank of your secret spot being there anymore. I made some calls last night and it seems as though my favorite tailout is no longer a tailout anymore. As a matter of fact, it's no longer a part of the river. It seems as though I'm going to be finding some new water on Saturday....

Hey, thanks, Peri. I've never fished the Hoh and because of the drive will probably only do so once or twice at the most each year.
I don't like the zipperlip mentality, but I do understand and can appreciate it as an evil necessity because of the growing crowds on the rivers.
I wish I had the time to hit the OP every weekend and explore those rivers, but home and family committments prohibit that. Therefore I really appreciate when someone shares info on access.
You guys that have the opportunity to spend so much time there truly are lucky.

Tons of great spots on the Hoh. I fished the cottonwood campground area and did outstanding on silvers. Took home a 20.7 pound buck (silver) Sweet fish. Went home with the big boy and a little cousin hen (6 or 7 pounds). Worth the time, especially if it clears up a little more. There was only about 3 feet of visibility where I was fishing. I threw size 4 vibrax's until about 9 am with only one fish. Switched to a size 5 (chartruese body/silver blade) and nailed em. Those peninsula silvers are a different breed.
