Has anyone ever ran their boat from Potlach down to the mouth of the Skokomish river and fished for chum down there? I notice the distance is about the same. No nets to worry about, right? My big concern is how navigateable it is? I'd hate to get rapped at low tide - ugh. I'm just thinking of options besides Hoodsport if they are netting tomorrow. Was also thinking of the shoreline along Twanho state park. Maybe Dewato Bay/River across from Hoodsport?

Mike: Many moons ago I used to paddle my small john boat out there to duck hunt. I launched right off the hiway bank. Anyway, I remember the area is channelized a good bit, but I think you should be able to get to the mouth. Have no idea how it would fish, but I'm thinik king it might be pretty dang good.

How bout a report?

With the mouth of the Skoke, bald point,The mouth of the Tahuya and the Dewatto not too far away I would have to say it would be worth a shot.Especialy with thhe rains coming this weekend.I have caught many a chrome bright chum entering the rivers this time of the year south of there.

good luck

Edit: You probably already know this, but the canal is a dangerous wind trap and it is suposed to be windy this week end.
