I am getting my new boat tuned up. The aluminum prop needs to be reconditioned, and more importantly, the skeg (Volvo SX) is bent and corroded.

Can you recommend an Eastside, Everett, or Seattle repair shop that excels at this type of work? The boat gets its regular maintenance done at 3 Rivers, but I figured they would probably outsource this.

Thanks, and regards.

For props, most everyone sends them out to The Propshop in Mukilteo. www.propshopltd.com

Sorry, can't help ya on the skeg.

Get the prop fixed in Marysville behind Geddes Marina, there is an old guy in a shop back there, he charges alot less than the prop shop, will get it done quicker and it will be a better job when he's done. He won't work on the skeg though.

Finegrain, if you drop your prop off at Boaters World on a Mon/Tues. you will probably have it back by Fri.
They will send it out to Tacoma Prop who does excellent work and it will run you about $60-$70. Don't know what to tell you about the skeg.

Thanks, guys. I popped into 3 Rivers today and they said they can take care of both the prop and the skeg. cool
