Took the words right out of my mouth! But not so far up in the Cowlitz as the Cowlitz Falls area. Saw some engineering pictures of Mayfield Lake prior to the dam and those pictures look just like a few areas that the dam engulfed. So my guess is Mayfield Dam area.

I understand it doesn't count, as I've already guessed. But I think that driftboat wasn't on the market before 1974, so Wynoochee would be unlikely for that reason. I think they'd filled the reservoir by then. It doesn't look like the part of the upper Green I've seen in the restricted area, so I'm inclined to go with those who say Cedar River upstream of Landsburg.

Of course, if it's an Oregon river, I haven't a clue.

Sincerely,

Salmo g.

I think Mooch just threw in that Oregon comment to try and throw us off a little. He knows we are on to him with it being the upper Cedar river. Nice Try Mooch!

Winterrun,

My, My. It almost sounds like you want that Original even more than ltlcleo does. (If that's even possible.) wink Guess maybe I shoulda checked ebay before I spoke, huh?

Still, you don't sound all that convinced. Somehow I just never took you for one to follow the crowds, like the ones that head for Blue Cr when F&H News reports reruns being caught on the Cow. cool

Oh ya that's right, Blue Cr been posted already. frown

Mooch out. (or was it Mooch on?) rolleyes

I want to rescind my Nestucca guess------- I'm not Oreo contingent.....but just threw it out. In fact I couldn't even find it on the map!!!

However,, I didn't read your clues until today..
So it might be the S. Fork Santiam, but you live in Kingston, probably not...

How about the N. Fork Skokomish before Cushman????? Don't know when the dam was built,,,,,But that is my final answer and I'm sticking to it (since someone already guessed Sultan)

Plus, I don't even want the 'crummy' spoon!!! laugh laugh

Mooch I have probably twenty originals. You can still by them from Acme. :p edit: Just this summer I hid an original under a rock on the summit of the brothers. laugh I scratched ltlcleo on the rock if any of you get up there.by the way the view of the varios watersheds from up there is phenominal.

Its just that the pics look familiar confused smile

Peri,
No wonder you don't want my 'crummy spoon', you're obviously a 'fork' man. S. Fork This, N. Fork That....... laugh
Just think of it though , if you fished with forks instead of spoons, when you hooked a fish you could always say "I stuck a fork in him." Or if you crackered him, you could say that he "forked off". laugh

ltlcleo and Aunty M,
Thanks guys, I feel much better now knowing that I won't be giving away anything of significant monetary value smile , even if this 'slightly used, but greatly appreciated, Original' should only have deep personal sentimental value, that nobody can be expected to understand just how profoundly it evokes enduring memories of a lifetime cry
But what kind of a heartless, inconsiderate bum would put up such a precious family heirloom, intended to be handed down from one generation of Mooch's to the next, as a lame prize for a cheap contest and risk revealing truths yet unspoken if he had thought there was even the slightest chance anyone would guess the location of SHANGRILA? cool

Mooch in'.

Hawk,

Good to have you back. Maybe we should've opened this thing up to some of your Minnesota rock gardens too?

So come on, your guess is as good as anyone else's here. Why not take a shot in the dark? shoot

Maybe you guys back there don't use 'slightly used' cleos. They come from out there someplace, dont' they? Must be a dime a dozen, huh? Oh well, I'm still not raising the ante.

Speaking of shots... put anything in the freezer?
