h2o's avatar kick ass..............now if it turned from a skull into a 60 lb. chinook, he'd be giving FishNg1 a run for his money. laugh

I would also have to agree that Fishng1 has the best, I have been at work and had someone come up behind me and see his Avatar and say "Oh my god that is huge". Even those non-fishermen would say his is the best

That is a great picture. Really.

I'd enter that print in a photography contest. There's just something about it I like. My compliments to the photographer. thumbs

What can you say about fishNg1's avatar, but I'd like to put a vote in for both of Bob's, the avatar and the headliner. Both are awesome fish!

Stlhdh20,
Thanks for the nomination!!! But compared to the slab Steve has, and the Doc's nook, the little coho I have didint stand a chance!!! I was going for that artistic value, yeah thats it artistic. Actually I like them all... the avatar is the closest thing we have to a face with the words!!! thumbs

I would say Bob's would be the best, only because I am not sure in all of my life of steelheadn if I will ever see a picture of me with that big of a steelhead, but what am I saying? Im not sure about catching a King that big will ever happen either, maybe! All are very nice fish and it is a tough choice. Nice catch guys.

I have to say that Spawnout's fish is definitely the most expressive. Talk about capturing the moment! That is my vote for the coolest fish in an avatar.

Thanks for the compliment Dan,
The photographer was my fishing buddy, Robert. We couldn't have been more than 15 or 16 at the time.

I still have the hat and the vest... though neither one of them fit anymore...

This was the picture that I was going to originally use! That was me in the bottom picture about 25 years ago. This thresher shark weighted over 550 pounds and was caught on rod and reel using 80 pound line. This was when I was commercially fishing for shark.

Actually it's one of Corey's faves to catch (and eat!)!

But we lke the saltwater variety ... perhaps I should have put this one up for Corey with lings in mind smile

Found an old pic of the son and I (He's 26 now). He is holding the small blackmouth that the Ling had grabbed on to and wouldn't let go of.....I netted them both and he spit out the salmon. Sorry for the poor quality of photo. At one time you could see the teeth marks on the salmon.

Same son a few years later. beer
