Got a Wynoochie R. white bridge question- i've been told by a family friend i need to be fishing around white bridge area for winter fish. Is that the bridge near the volunteer fire station?
i know where black creek bridge is but need some clarification from my fellow comrades.

Hey Lofty, The bridge you are referring to is known as the crossover bridge. You'll have to put in a little driving/exploring time to find White bridge.Hint- It's upstream! I will be more than happy to tell if you want to call or e-mail but, not at the expense of getting flamed on this board.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Head upstream from Black Creek........until you see a turn to the left that says "Wishkah". Don't turn there. Continue upstream another few miles.........you'll be coming down a hill and at the bottom of the hill there's a sign that says "Public Fishing" ..........turn left there. Follow the chuckhole-filled POS road to the river.

There's no bridge at the old White Bridge access.

You don't need to fish around there to catch fish on the Nooch, but the hole right there at the launch is pretty fishy. The property both upstream and downstream of the WDFW access is posted No Trespassing now.

Kinda sad when a guy can't tell someone how to find a "Public Fishing" access site without fear of getting flamed.

What's even more sad than the worry of being flamed on this website is the fact that all of the places that used to be accesible along the rivers are now being posted "No Trespassing"

We need to tread lightly, respect private property and PICK UP THE TRASH!!! Even if it's not yours...

In a couple more years bank access will be very hard to find if this trend continues...

trailrat,

I agree with you but if someone is dumping a couch and a refrigerator are you going to pick it up? I think the problem on the Nooch was pretty serious especially at the gravel bar. Hopefully, it will open up again this winter.

Yes Tornado, and I actually have. On the Puyallup and a couple other rivers (luckily for me it's almost free to use the dump, since I live in city limits). I've cleaned up a few holes on the Nooch (including the infamous gravel bar launch that's been recently closed). I've had my cataraft buried on my yearly summer cleanup drift, and it has a 1600# capacity! Only god send I have, I know some of the property owners on the Nooch, and have property on the water below the gravel bar launch. So I'll always have access. But I still did my part, since it's such a great river.

i still think the problems at places like that are the locals. pretty much the same with every river. it's usually the hillbillies of the area that like dumping stuff wherever they can and littering where they fish. local kids partying always takes a toll too. try fishing the deschutes without finding all kinds of beer cans and empty cases of oly, ain't gonna happen

i think very few people are going to travel a long distance to fish somewhere and litter around...they mostly get scapegoated i think. of course there's exceptions to every rule...

just a rant of mine mad

Actually, I totally agree chum man. But does help keep access open if you try and clean up. I know I'd been thanked by a few owners over the years for doing it. Have access to their properties now because of it.
