Any good guesses as to the condition of the Bogachiel river this coming Monday? I am thinking about heading over Sunday evening and floating it on Monday. Thanks.

This season, more than most it seems, I've had to keep close track of the river gages and the short term weather forecast, and then make the go/no go decision at the last minute. I'd certainly recommend that for any coastal river in the coming days.

A friend of mine who does that has had two dynamite days fishing, and I've had a couple fair ones.

Sincerely,

Salmo g.

If its marginal and you cant decide I would just go. if there is any vis at all (meaning inches) regardless of the level you can catch fish at either the ponds or the bogie hatchery area.

In high water the fish are gonna stack up near the bank below and just above the hatchery outlets anywhere they can in blown conditions.

Make sure you are fishing atleast 20# test and use the biggest cheaters and corkies you got. Or even double stack regs for a big profile. Ad lots of sent or bait and watch out.

Just wait for the hook up and yard em in.

Ive had some huge days in these conditions. Find a pocket of fish and hook up every cast as soon as it hits bottom.

timber man if your looking for flows on the bogey, you wont find any that I know of there are not stations on every river. flows are a good guide but there are times when a rivers real fishy and if you went by the flow charts you probably would of passed it up just my opinion laugh

thanks bob for the web cam shots I always know theres at least one river in the condition I like to fish when I head out that way thumbs

There's no graph for the Bogie but you can use the Calawah and Hoh for an idea of what the area rivers are doing.

Thanks for the help. I know it can be a crap shoot. I will call Three Rivers before going and if it is out, well, I will throw nuclear cheaters by the Hatchery. Mike

The Calawah has been just a shade clearer than the Bogey, everything out here is pretty high right now, but overnight???? Lots of fish in most of the Olympic rivers now, just waiting for the water to drop. Good luck!

Whoa there, sorry. I wanted to say that the Calawah has been a shade better color than the Bogey lately, worth coming out as there are fish in all the Olympic rivers. Just need the water to come down a little. Good luck!
