What an awsome fish, Congrats. I tried the Pink worm yesterday with little success, you should have seen the look on everyones face when I started to use it, you would have thought my pants fell off the way people were looking at me. Would you mind sharing any tips on proper rigging and technique.

It's so hard to explain. I've tried it via typing and you have to see it to understand. Seeing that you live in Edgwood, meet me tomorrow @ GI Joes on South Hill around 4 and I'll demonstrate first hand. I drive a maroon ranger with a Lamiglas sticker on the back window. Deal......

You needn't be concerned about Bill 's feeling because you found a better way to rig a worm then what he knows. Go show him. I know Bill well enough to know he is always looking to learn. We all are. I would love to see your rigging. But, I do think in most cases it's more important who is fishing a rig then how it's rigged.

Dave, It will always be common for people to be misled by giving more credence to who said what than to what was said. The fish, on the other hand, probably fall for the aptness of the presentation without regard to who is holding the rod. btw: I was never in doubt as to who Surecatch was. Nice fish Justy! A 20 lb hatchery is a beautiful fish indeed. Good thing the fish didn't know who was after him. Were you drifting the worm free or hanging it under a bobber?

Drifting it..... For me I've had way better success drifting it than under a float.
Dave, good post...... I would have to agree with you. I've seen some wacky presentations but nevertheless, certain guys are able to hit em.' The person behind the rod makes a world of difference in my opinion......
Plunker - Floyd? - Who are you?

CTS:
Can you somehow get us a picture or good illustration of your rigging? I am currently working on an article on fishing the pink worm for STS, and want to include any tecniques that have proven themselves.
Anyone who wants to share please feel free to send me an e mail.

Nice one Justy.
My biggest Steelie came on the worm under a float and I lost a bigger one a month later on the same thing.
I tend to drift fish the worms more than float fishin now days
The worm threaded on a spinner's siwash hook can take a steelie now and then to. Vibrax seem to work best. I have done good on brand new steelies this way on some of the smaller rivers. Works great when you want to catch hos and steelies. Its has worked a couple times for me as a change up tactic in the combat zones. Everybody looks at you like your nutts untill you hammer a fish within the first few casts when knowone has hooked one in a couple hours. Then everybody wants to be your friend.

Please excuse me for my ignorance, but what is the pink worm suppose to offer for the fish? I never use them but I am willing to learn. I have seen guys use them without success, maybe they're not doing it right.
Thanks

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

what is the pink worm suppose to offer for the fish? I asked one once......but he just looked at me like this ![frown frown](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/frown.gif) Then I bonked him on the head, so I never really found out. Who knows.............but they work, and they work in a wide variety of conditions.
