Just was thinking maybe some one would want to talk about thier weekend fishing adventures. And no Im not interested in knowing the location, just if you had a good weekend fishing or a bad one, either way it was better than being sick with the flu.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Had a great day today. I had a bunch od crap I was supposed to get done this weekend, but I was also having a serious fishing jones going on.

I decided to bag all the stuff I was going to do and get out for a drift with my step dad and a buddy. It turned out to be a real nice day on the water without too big of a crowd, and a few willing fish. Here's a pic of one winter hen we got today. I also got a nice summer run buck about 16-17#.

It started out bad and ended good, got to the beathead , all I had was the 1 I rigged up last night , took about 5 minutes to lose it so I had to go to plan B, bobber & jigs, I know they work but being a virgin wink I didn't have much confidence, that all changed on the 3rd or 4th cast, FISH ON, fought it for about a min. then fish off beathead , fished for another hour trying various other jigs, nothing, decided to go get something to eat and see if I could find another jig similar to the 1 that broke, found it, back at the river about 10 cast later, FISH ON, a few minutes later a chrome 8-9lbs. winter fish was on the bank beer and headed for Christmas eve dinner ho

Had a so-so weekend.

Fished Elliott Bay on Saturday and caught a bunch of shakers and no keeper sized blackmouth.

Sunday, I fished Lake WA for some cutt/bow action and did not see a single fish. cry

Got more fishing in this weekend than any in the past 2 months. Catching wasn't so good, but the fishing was great!

Spent Sat. fishing the Skagit below our home here in Concrete (just below the Baker). They let the water clean up (finally) and visibility was 4-5' on Sat.

Started off with eggs, switched to spoons and while I couldn't entice any silvers to the line a nice Dolly smacked the chrome/pink spoon just about 10 am.

Water below the Baker was back to murky today and running a foot higher than yesterday (2' ft. visibility) , so this afternoon I went up to the steelhead park in Rockport. Several of the sleds came in with nice bright silvers, one close to 20 lbs. I got skunked, save 2 shaker Dolly's that had eyes bigger than their belly's.

I'm a rookie when it comes to fishing the rivers, but enjoying every second of the education!

Does clamming count?

Excellent day, reasonably warm, no wind, mild swell, more clams showing tha we could possibly dig for (although quite a few laying deeper than usual)

My party took ten limits off the beach before lanterns were even needed. That's a lot of cleaning, but yes we got it done in one sitting!

Friday morning, I, too had a ton of obligations, and opted instead to go throw things at fish. Got 2 in no time at all, and was in the truck by 9.
Saturday the Hubster joined me and we had 1 each by 10, and were heading home.
Yesterday was a gorgeous day for clamming and we drug our 12 year old, who really wanted to be home playing vids, out to the beach. We had 3 limits in an hour and a half. They weren't showing well early, and many were very deep.
Got them all cleaned and in the fridge by 8 p.m. and we'll be having steelhead, ham and clams for Christmas dinner.
Do I still have to bake cookies????? laugh

Was very anxious to get out on the salt all week. Took my 8 year old daughter Saturday morning. Did the usual stop for junk food and caffine..

Water was a little choppy and not knowing how bad it was going to get, we opted to fish Green Point instead of Gibson.. Turned out to be a good call.

MY rod dipped right at 8AM with a really hot 12# Blackie... Next fish popped off at 8:45 with a nice fish a little over 9# for my daughter.
Such a great time wathcing her catch fish.. She's not the strongest with the rod, but boy she sure tries hard....

It is always great to take her along as she is usually my lucky charm. Some of the things kids talk about.... Needless to say, guys better watch out. She is quite the fisherlady already. (She netted my fish !!!!)

Back home by 9:30 cleaning fish and a biology lesson...

If you haven't seen the pix, it is posted under TEAM SALMONATOR Report

MATT

I was home sick with the flu as well, and still feel like crap four days later. Damn hospitals! My wife had surgery on wednesday, and the whole family was sick by friday morning. Been really hard to take care of her when none of us can move. I dont know if I'm gonna make it out to get some razors this go round and that pi$$es me off. It was nice to hear of some fishing successes though.

Didn't get out fishing this weekend because we where in Seattle for Saturday night but I was able to go skiing today. The weather was great. It was like spring skiing but in December.

fished the sky.
saturday tossed both spoons and the typical corky/yarn on about the 1000th cast i managed too take a 7lb. hen on the drift gear.
sunday on about the 6th cast a buck slammed my stee-lee spoon.
on a scale of GOOD and BAD i'd have togo with GOOD.

For the most part it sounds like fun was had by all who got to get out, whether it was clamming, blackmouthing or steelheading. Glad to hear that there is quite a few fish being caught, sooo much better than last year thats for darn sure. Went today on a very close to home river and didnt touch a thing, but it was nice to be outside with the old Sid, especially when he crosses the river, he looks like a big fury seal. And couldnt complain about the weather either, like I said nice to be outdoors.

Sooo went out to the Oly-pen fri. and figured to be just another few fish day, well between 3 of us, 22 fish banked several spit, and a hog that took me for a ride and couldn't turn but almost got a face full of gear. Exciting, H377 YES!! When ya got a triple going, you wonder how they know to get their signals right and cross lines. Can be a cluster...... thumbs

Went 2 for 2 on Sat. My first 2 West-Side Steelies. Definitely a bit different then those Summer runs on the Snake in December.
