Well i think im goin to try me some winter steelhead fishing this year. I tried bout 3 years ago for a week straight and only thing I caught was something that looked like a small trout (it was maybe 4in long). I was wonderin if anyone could give me some helpful tips, tricks etc.... and/or maybe a spot to try if you wanna reveal that. im kinda goin blind on this, havnt been anywhere near the Green in bout 3 years, i do have some eggs sititn in the freezer that a nice silver donated to me, im tyrin to fish a palce somewhat local cuz I really dont feel like driving an hour+ away juss to get skunked. If ya dont wanna post the info on here you can PM or email me. Thanks agian all for any info you can help with.

You forgot to mention beer bottle beach and the mecury mine. Their is a lot of access on the green . What kind of fishing you plan on doing. Plunking or drifting. Lots of shacks and places lower to plunk if your into that. I prefer higher up and drifting corkies.

Unless you have some kind of permission I would not go into the merc mine area, they have posted everything and I got a letter from security that the area is closed to everyone and that they would call police, ticket me and tow my rig off. I was told it belongs to palmer coal but haven't gone in to find out or to get permission.

Lots of Chum in the river now and I know they are filling up the holes as far up and past Icy creek now so if you can get through them without hitting one you may find summer runs partaking in some chum eggs laugh

And the rains are coming but maybe we will get lucky and they won't need to open the dam to much but, the higher water levels would be nice to move somemore fish up.

I will be out there on the upper this weekend, water levels permitting.

See ya out there beer

WEll I mainly do alot of drfting and plunking with corkies and yarn, i do have some eggs but Im not a big fan of using them, I was planning on heading over to Sportco tommorow and picking me up some jigs and a coupel of floats (not sure what kind to get any reccomendations?) for the corkies Ill prob stick with my casting rod but I ahve a 10ft spinning rod wiht 10lbs test I could use the jog and bobber on (been wanting to try them all year long with the recent popularity of them) Thanks agian for the Tips on places to try, I would really like to target some steelies but I wont complain if I hook into some chum

Aint,
I think you can do better, fishing other rivers near by but if you want to target the Green, head up to Kanaskt Palmer and the Stretch just before the Tacoma Dam Headworks. wink
