As I read through the listed forums on "Boat motors on the Sol Duc", and beyond my anger at alot of the things that were said (many false as well as unrelated to me), one thing kept coming back to me, and that is that I am infringing on other people's pursuit of a good day on the river, whether it is because they think I am running my motor too close to them, or just the fact that it is hanging on the back of my boat. When I hear about people threatening to vandalize my equipment like a little b*tch, instead of confronting me like a man, I think about the prospect of adding another motor to make my boat twins, and also the possibility of things escalating to the point where someone gets hurt. That is not what I want, and that is not why I am on the river. It seems the only way to diffuse the situation is to remove the motor. So to all you men out there, sorry about that, my bad, but to all you girls out there, the motor might be gone, but I won't be. If you have something to say, don't bother typing it, just row on over.

Skagit Slayer:
Not sure I really understand what your saying there. From my understanding, the dude everyone was upset at lived in Monroe..and you say you live in Mt. Vernon. So, are you the guy that was on the Sol Duc with the motor?
If so, like has been said...good choice to remove the kicker off the boat.
Granted, there is no law restricting motors on that river, but tradition means a lot fo folks out there, and that is one pristine piece of water that by most all accounts is unspoiled by the mechanical fossil fuel burning creations of modern man.
If'n your on the Skagit...stop in and say howdy! I'm just below the mouth of the Baker. Or, if you see that ugly DB of mine (before it is sold) give a shout.
