Thanks for asking Buck. I was 30 seconds away from asking the same question.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Salmo,
I'm not sure WHAT the spelling is..........but I've seen it spelled about seventeen different ways. I know that you go past Reynvaan road in Central Park on your way to the Hump........but whether that's the same spelling..........???

I thought I was the last one to learn it's shorter in time and distance to take the Wynoochee/Wishkah cutoff On an icy morning, I tend to stick to major thoroghfares.........and getting coffee and having a sh!t can on the way is another benefit of going through town. Sometimes I don't feel the need to lay cable until I'm past Monte Square.........so I'd rather lay cable in Hoquiam or Aberdeen than in the woods. I take the Wishkah cutoff on the way home though.

I would suggest that you go with a guide like myself before doing it your first time on your own. It is a long drift and the river is very finicky this time of year. if it has rained at all or for any length of time it tends to go south quickly which means your day goes with it because of the extended drift.
