I highly recommend Jon Ball of Gimme A Go Guide Service. He's a full time fishing guide who I've had the pleasure of fishing with a couple of times. I've only gone with him for oversize fish, but he does target keeper fish as well as just about every other species of fish in the Columbia.

Even though I have my own jet boat, and do well at Sturgeon fishing, I from time to time do take a guided trip. I have tried several guides on the Columbia, the only one I book with now is Dave Haak from Tall Tails Guide Service. Besides being a good fisherman Dave is also a great person in the boat too.

I will recommend Jordan Smith of Bent Rods Guide Service. Whent out with him last March below Becon Rock. Our boat caught about 50 fish. Most where small, two where keepers and we lost a oversized one. All the other boats might have caught 5 each all small.

I not only fished for Sturgeon on the Columbia for 20 years (mouth to McNary dam), but ran a successful guide service for 6.... I would be more than happy to chat with any of you on the whens/where/hows. Would even be happy to assist with maps/coordinates. If one has a boat suitable for sturgeon fishing on big water (That river can get pretty rough), the need of a guide is more of a indulgence than a necessity IMHO...... Not begrudging guides at all since I made a good amount of $$ doing it, but just happy to help out fellow board members..... (pssstt..... McNary dam is THE best spot for fish over 10'... believe me... and only 3 1/2 hrs from Seattle.... shhhh, dont tell anyone.... wink )

Skagitrat, ever thought about sturgeon fishing in your own back yard? Call Cal Stocking of "Cause for Divorce Guide Service". Cal specializes in strugeon fishing on the Skagit both for keeper and trophy fish.

Eric Linde, David Johnson, Clancy Holt, and several others are pretty darn good. (sorry looks like an Ifish list right there) But those guys will put you into dinosours. Truth be told, pic the right guys brain and with the proper boat you shouldn't have a hard time nailing some gators.

J.R.'s Guide Service fishes the lower Columbia for keeper size sturgeon. He has and excellant catch ratio. Fishes from a 26 ft boat the seat 6 comfortably.

I wouldnt overlook the opportunities to catch monster sturgeon that are available up here on the Fraser river in British Columbia.
