Hey guys:
Make your own:
1. can buy "backer rod" at any hardware store. Look in the window insulation area.
2. 20' costs about $2.70 - $3.50
3. different sizes--- 1/4, 3/8. 1/2. 5/8, 3/4...I have all of these.
4. Cut them about 3 1/2 - 4 inches
5. Take sand paper, and take the oily finish off.
6. Next punch holes at a diagonal at both ends.....I use a "large needle" but a ice pick might work.
7. I used WD40 spray nozzles, cut to length, to fit in the holes.
8. Use a drop of super glue, to hold in place.
9. Get some white paint, fast drying, and paint about 3/4 of an inch down 1 side and paint the top.
10. Get a bright color----Red, green, yellow and paint over the top of the white.
Put about 10 of these in a plastic bag, differnet sizes.
When you get to the river: run your line thur the top "hole", around the body 1 time, then out the bottom hole.
can tie your jig direct, or use a leader below.
Might have to add some small weights, I use slinkies, to make the float "ride up right".
They work every bit as good as "store bought", and its something "you did".
