Watch your vehicle, my locked truck was broken into january 5th at the wilson takeout on the Bogy. Taken was a green wright mcgill rod and a new okuma md 30 spinning reel with yellow izor line. Don't leave anything in your vehicle.

Were the windows broke or was the door jimmied open? Any other items stolen? Any vandalism? It really is an infuriating situation when someone steals your stuff. I had a pistol and a bunch of gear stole out of my rig once. I felt really angry and disappointed in human beings for a while. Don't let it get you down too much. Do you have renters/homeowners insurance that guards against theft? My coverage included items stole from my car. Check it out. You might at least be able to be compensated for your gear. Remember, most sportsmen are good guys. If I saw a person breaking into your rig, I'd sure as hell get involved real quick, even if I didn't know you. I believe most guys would do just the same. We all need to be watching out for each other against these petty crimes. Brass

My truck was the only one sitting at Wilson's on Sunday December 7th and some SOB siphoned my gas tank dry. Ted Miller of RoadRunner Shuttle told me someone else's truck had been broken into there the day before.

Looks like it s the same class of people that break into hikers rigs in the summer at the trail heads. Like was said above: We have to watch over each others gear.

Sorry you lost stuff!

I hope this is not a trend. I'll start heading that way for a few trips in Feb. I've been fishing the Forks area for 15+ years and have not had anything stolen and I have not heard of many instnaces of rigs being broken into. It is something I think about so I drive my old truck and don't keep anything of value in it. One nice thing about fishing in the fall, is that the crowds are smaller and the people I've met over the years have been great.

Sorry to hear that.
I feel your pain.
I mentioned on another thread that I had a car stolen with fish gear in it back in october.
I had fished coho's out of a friends 23' sled on a sunday and provided most all of the gear used by our friends that day. I drove my Nissan 240sx up to the river to meet everyone, unloaded my stuff and we ended up having a great day.
Loaded my stuff back into the car and drove home and park it that night.
I told the wife not to take the car to work the next morning since I had all the gear in it.
So she's running late Monday morning and it was pouring down rain. She starts up our truck and the winshield wiper motor wasn't functioning. So she jumps in the car and drives it to the park&ride to catch her bus to downtown seattle.
She gives me a call to let me know the situation, and I told her that I'd go switch vehicles at the park&ride.
I never did.
She calls again after she gets back to the P&R and says "I can't find the truck. "
I told her that "I had it."
Well then "I can't find the car."
"You've gotta be *****ing me!"
No signs of a break in at the P&R, atleast no broken glass. We filed a police report, and to this day, the haven't found the car.
We only had liability insurance on the Nissan.
Lost was:
The car, which I kept in perfect condition
6 loomis rods
2 lamis
8 shimano reels
A big rubbermaid tote filled with tackle boxes containing most of my river tackle.
Nikon binocs
Neoprene waders, and goretex rain coat.
Sunglasses, (not cheap).
You get the idea.
Tax write-off anyway
I spend alot of time on the peninsula, being that I live there 5 months out of the year, and I've never had any thing stolen, out there.
But it would be wise to limit the thieves chance at getting our stuff any where.
Watch out.
