I want to fish the nooch on thursday, and I am curious about the level. Last time I fished it last month it was flowing at 549 and 5.24 boards. Today it is 2000 and 6.85. With rain in the forecast for tomorrow, is it worth it at? Thank you for any help on reading the river level.

Bring "plunking gear".........I live about 5 miles from river......way to high and too much volume for me to fish.

My first 2 steelheads ever were caught on the Nooch at 2,200' dropping to 1,800' by end of day. So take it for what ever that's worth.

I meant to add to my previous post but had a geritol moment, LOL. I watch this river religioiusly and it is a really good idea to check the sight that I just gave you right before you head out. There have been many times that I thought it would be way too high to fish comfortably but on the night before or on the morning that I want to fish it they close the spillways way down on the dam which makes the fishing a lot easier. This of course has worked in reverse for me also with them opening up the dam and raising the flow more than I care to fish.

Well, it's running 2700 right now and it' still raining here. It would be a pretty fast float and not very crowded. Have fun, you could have one of those floats that you will always remember. You know the kind of trip, You drive all the way down here and see the river is almost out, but since you drove all this way you might as well float it. Good luck !!

Save your gas, went to the river about 3 pm. It's high and flow is not good for drift fishing. Did see some plunkers......no fish!!!!!

Raining now so.......doesn't look good for 3+ days or many more!!!!!!

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Neither.

The Nooch is punched and the Cow isn't DB-friendly.

I'd go bankrat it on something small.
