I've only made a few slinkies before and was wondering what size shot does everyone use on a daily basis. Regular or Mag. Thanks

I use 270 shot just because they are quicker to make. Seem to get hung up a little more than the smaller shot slinkies.

I've only used slinkies for about a year now but i like the 250 shot the best. If the water is too high for any slinkie I make (usually six shot) I just use lead.

Steel Slayer:

I've been using slinky's for 12+ yrs. Used to buy my bags of "lead shot" from "Larry's Sporting Goods" around the Portland area. They were 5# to the bag and I'd buy 3-4 bags, and 1000' of parachute cord. I used only BB size shot for many yrs., just make the length of cord longer if I wanted more weigth.

Tried double 0 buck shot....and sold many pounds of "made up slinky's" to the stores in my area........but had to use a larger cord.

For my fishing, I use only the "bb" shot or like others.....have gone back to "lead"
