I think the rod will come with a reel and line and a float set up ready to fish and will be worth about $500. Food and beverages available too...

No offense Skydrifitin but the link takes you right to the front page of the website with a picture of Surecatch AND the location AND the time.....and there is even a map on how to get there......If that is too confusing let us know.

Skydriftin - Grandpa2:

The link takes you to the PSA home page, and on the lower left is the link for the Dave Vedder seminar...

The fist time I went to the page I got the details...BUT, the next time I clicked the link the only thing on the page aside from the PSA header was:

"Steelhead guru Dave Vedder. "

Rest of the page was blank, just as Skydriftin said. Something isn't working right there.

Skydrifter:

I found the data...

Click the link Grandpa2 gave to the PSA site, then just scroll down the page for the data.

The link I mentioned (at the lower left of the PSA page) seems to be faulty...BUT all the needed data is on the main page he gave at the link...ya just need to scroll down to find it.

I just joined PSA...good folks, including Grandpa...he was telling you correctly...the data is there....we just didn't see it.

Not trying to be snide skydrifter....I think the MSN website can be frustrating sometimes. The trouble with them is that you need to get a NetPassport....alot of people don't want to do that. When I click on the link in JR's post it goes right to the front page of the website with the poster giving all the details in plain view....Sorry if I assumed you could see the page....and you can't.

Not sure if we can make that meeting or not...but would love to hear Vedders talk and get a shot at that combo to boot!

I am always leery of signing up for anything on the internet. But I do have a MSN passport whatever-you-call-it and have had nothing negative (like spam) result from it and neither has anyone I know.

JRfishing, please explain the details of the $500 float rod. It must be a dandy.

I'm building a 10' 6' Rainshadow 1263F* with a gloss Olive green finish. The blank is 43 million Modulus Graphite "RX7".
It's a 2 piece rod with 8-12 Line Weight, Mod Action with Med/Light Power

It will be built with 12 titanium guides and gold zirconia rings to help keep the wieght down.

For the grip I have combined traditional cork and stained it green to match the blank and added red burl cork accents.

Burgandy Metallic with Gold Metallic inlays wrapps for the guides and butt wrap. Right now i think the butt wrapp will be a Double Diamond pattern with the same Burgandy and gold thread.

I also had our PSA Logo made into a special decal for the rod.

This should be a great one of a kind float rod, not one that you can pick up at the local tackle store.

I hope we can raise some money for PSA in the raffle for this rod. laugh

It looks like PSA might put a Pflueger Trion reel and complete the rod.

If this meeting will be anything like the last one, ya better get there early & grab a good chair! I sure learned alot at the last one, like, I should shadow you, slabquest & grandpa when you make trips to the coast!

I for one will plunk down some $$$ for that rod JR! It was neat to see the downrigger go to a new member!!

See you there.

Hey! Don't diss Snoopy, he's caught his fair share. Many of us caught our first fish with him.
