Who else brought home a bunch of junk from the Sportsman's Show? I ended up with a bunch of brochures, some P-Line, and a bunch of lures from the 4 for $10 bins. Didn't find the reel that I was looking for, but I did find out who can get it for me.

I managed to get out of there unscathed. The girlfriend did pick up some nice fish art for $125. Good thing she was spending her own money. laugh

LOL, wish I had time to go around the show. I never had a chance to leave the Skookum Cataraft booth all week. Was so busy, only had enough time to grab something to eat (and a couple times food was brought to me to the booth, btw thanks Jim). Did buy some of the cheaters for a buddy of mine. But he paid me back, so actually was a $0 spending show for me (got in free and free food lol).

The show that is normally in Seattle, will be moved to the fairgrounds in Monroe. I don't know if it will be a permanent move or not.

Managed to leave with "only" spending $50 eek Mostly on some fly tying materials and jig head paint. Did enter to win a nice traveling fly tying box/bench filled with materials worth $1,000, among other prizes icluding a drift boat. Knock on wood!

God, I hope not. Monroe is almost 50 miles away from where I live. I guess their plan is to situate it as far as possible from the Puyallup show, so that the people up north who thought it was too far for the show down south will go to the show up north. But that makes it a royal pain for those of us who live near one or the other and want to go to both. At least Seattle is a nice, central location.

I wouldn't be surprised if the show was moved based on cost of the venue more than simply wanting a new location. The exhibition center and stadium rentals can get pretty pricy in a big hurry.

The old Seattle Sportsman's Show was run by different people and it and they are gone. The show in Monroe is the same as the show in Puyallup. The old one in Seattle was being boycotted by quite a few exhibitors.... The Monroe show starts Feb 25th thru the 29th at the Monroe fair grounds.

Can give you the scoop. Not just a boycott by venders that caused this, actually alot were literally PROHIBITED from showing. City of Seattle was the main problem, not O loughlin group. They put such restrictions on what could be brought in, raised prices thanks to new stadiums, and just made it a very unfriendly place to be. Only reason it was held in Seattle last year was they still had a year left to go on the lease. I will say that it will always be in Monroe from now on, unless a similar type fairground can be found outside the city limits. Spoke with one of the O Loughlin brothers this weekend actually. The one nice thing about Monroe, will be free parking like in Puyallup. Plus, a bigger chance to bring back the big numbers like the old show had.

But from my understanding, there was a trade actually, not a sellout of the show. One in Colorado was traded for this one in Seattle (now Monroe).

This wont be too long of a "drive" for me. about 30 min from Puyallup to Monroe and I dont have to worry about trying to find the last parking spots. I just need to remeber to bring chocks!

.....I can always find an exuse to fly anywhere!

Oh yeah, I did buy something. One of those magnesium fire starters for my crash bag, if by chance I survive the crash! evil

Garage parking for the Seattle Boat Show was $9... cry

It will be free at the Monroe Sportsmans Show.

I think the fairgrounds will be a better venue. I'm looking forward to it.
