I haven't heard anything about any changes in crabbing allocations or season length, anyone got the scoop. All I know is they shut it down early, this month has an "r" in it and I can go get any dungees.....

Despite protests by groups like PSA, the crabbing seasons are still unpreddictable and will start in June I believe. The seasons were closed early due to what WDFW thought was overharvest by sports crabbers. Since then the commercials have been on the water 24/7 and still are out there. I find it hard to believe that they aren't scouring the sound of crab. I think we will probably see a new CRC...Catch Record Card this year adding a $3 fee to the license tally. This will allow a more precise count of the sports catch and hopefully allow a more stable sports crabbing season. In the meantime the tribes are glutting the market with crab and I have heard reports of dumping crab due to lack of a market....but they are still out there with 100 pots per boat.

Went to Willlipa Bay at Tokeland on Saturday..Even with all the commercial gear out there we managed three limits of crab..The weather was decent although a little windy and there was only a few boats out there.....All in all a nice day.
