I would like to know how the two-year WSR decision will lead to more wild steelhead spawning and less in tribal gillnets.
If this is the end result of the Commission decision then I'm all for it, but I got a sinking feeling that we've just cut our own throat and now we can't even take an out-of-water picture of it.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to regulate the sportsman to this point while allowing the other groups to continue to harvest with their
"smart nets" and still others to sell wild fish at the public market.....if the intent is to promote the wild stock. Apparently it is still okay to cut down and destroy the habitat, pollute the watershed, and profit from otherwise illegal wild fish sales...

Oh come on guys, there is no such thing as forgone opportunity from a released instead of bonked wild steelhead, in fact there is increased opportunity, as you or another angler now have the opportunity to catch that wild steelhead over and over - I caught the same 18 pound Queets fish 3 times in one day a few years ago eek Fishing is better with more fish in the water, period. Why would any of you want fishing not to be better confused

The fishing was GREAT! The catching could have used some improvement however........

Gimme a break, TJN. I 'd much rather drive 200 miles to the Hoh and C&R a few wild fish per week than to have to jump the hoops for a permit and then spend about $3500 per week to catch one on the great rivers like the Dean and Babine.
Our own Hoh is just as pretty, has huge fish, and is right here in the USA. It could be a great river if we would stop killing our fish.
