When people talk about fishing the mouth of the Stilly, is it the north channel or south? I've never gone to the mouth so don't know which one can handle a boat. Both look pretty shallow on the charts.

depends on your boat. i have hunted both areas and you have to watch for the tides.

The mouth I am talking about is the southern one that goes under the newer bridge just north of Warm Beach. The northern one that I know of is only about 4-6 feet wide and is almost completely dry at low tide. There is a launch right off of the Stanwood-warm beach road on west side that a lot of people use when fishing or hunting.
