Vasectomy yesterday and a spontaneous boat purchase today while under 2 vicoden and an IPA. Hmmm.

Not a big risk however @ $700, and not the 23' Grady White I look forward to someday purchasing, but it's a good little boat for Lone Lake, Langley, WA, and the sound.

It's a 14' Sunde, made in Tacoma in 1960, original trailer(both in great shape) and a 1985 military surplus 35 HP Johnson that the owner has had for 12 years. (OB looks very clean and started right up)

This boat has been in the garage and is very clean for it's age of 44 years! Windshield, steering column with throttle and f/r controls. Small canvas covering the seating area and 1 rod holder.

Looking forward to picking it up Saturday or Sunday, and then trying it out w/ the kids on the lake across the street.

Thinking of naming it "Whidbey Clipper" if you know what I mean ;\)

Fishin w/ the big boys! \:\)

Just keep that bag of frozen peas handy for a few days and don't lift anything heavy, no matter how good you feel.

Congrats on the boat!

Yeah, $700 for the whole package. He has a 6 hp kicker that he is selling seperate from the boat. Don't think I'll buy it though.

He's asking $350 for it and it's a 1965 Johnson 6 HP with like 30 hours total on it.

Looks very clean and matches the boat better than my 15 Honda, but I am going to spend the extra $ on a 8wt. fly rod.

Feeling better today and went to my fly casting class, but still taking it easy.

Keeping a cold one between my legs for the balance of the weekend.

Hey Jeff, serious question - where are you taking your fly casting class? I'm returning to flyfishing after a 17 year absense and was thinking of taking some refresher lessons. BTW, I feel your pain, went that route years ago. Good to have one less thing to worry about. It's the only way to go! \:\)

Mike,
Gil Nyerges lives here on Whidbey and offers this class at least once a year for a nominal $15. It is 4 days, 2 weekends, @ 2 hrs. each session.

Mr. Nyerges is a great instructor and this must be some sort of public service, because he has so much knowledge and years of experience.

It would be a long trip from Redmond, but I'll post the next class he offers. Having fly fished before, you would likely not need all 4 days, but maybe just the last 2 days.

Starting to figure out the double hull (?) now and It's really cool to see your casting distance almost double with that little trick. I still need lots of practice though!

Last weekend while practicing on the dock at Lone Lk, I picked up a nice little 20+ inch Rainbow just bursting with eggs! \:\)

Hey Jeff! You'll have some fun in that old boat, and those old 35's are reliable (albeit hungry) as they come.
I had the "cut" some 25 years ago or so. The nurse, when sticking me with the local, said, "You're going to feel a little plick." (edit..had to substitute an l for the r to get around the censor job  ) My reply to that had both her and the doc laughing......
