The part about the $10,000 for entering a hibernating bears cave and waking it up is too funny. Could you imagine going to court for that one. The judge, "Bailiff, would you please wheel our quadriplegic friend up to the bench. I'd like to know what went through your mind as the bear ripped your limbs off. Just what the hell were you thinking son?"

In minnisota and northern michigan its common for poachers to climb into dens and take young or kill the aldults for the pelts. they dont realy wake up and rip you apart. Its kinda like fighting a extreamly drunk man. they tend to be sluggish. In december 1979 at the rip old age of 17 I fell a tree onto a brush pile while cutting fire wood. In side the pile was a den that we werent aware of. the bear came out and charged he literaly stoped twice in the charge and took a nap. during the second nap I moved into the truck and when he woke up he forgot what the charge was about and wondered off. we finished cutting up the tree and placed more brush on the pile. The next day we went back and the tracks led back into the bruch pile.
