I am hearing that Marine Areas 11 and 13 will both be closed for salmon fishing this May and June. Anyone know if this is true?

I'm not in the North of Falcon loop, but from friends I hear 11 at least probably won't open until July 1, just like in 2002.

I was at Mill Creek and Lynnwood NOF, and did not hear of any issues pertaining to those marine areas at all. No proposals for or against any changes.

Don't think that's a Rumor DR It's a wait and see what happens.

Ron,
The last meeting locally for North if Falcon will
be
this coming tuesday at the Swe Tac Holiday Inn starting at 9 pm and is
open
to the public. This will be the last chance for public imput. I talked
yesterday to Larry Carpenter about this issue which appears to be
complex.
As I understand as part of the settlement with Washington Trout the
state
has to sumit at a given time a EPA summary. It in so many words was not
done. Without the protection of endangered stocks and the proper plan
by
agreement we will be shut down in 11 and 13 for all salmon May and
June.This
is the only way that National Marine fisheries will sign off to give
any
fishery anywhere. It does not look promising.
