Any guesses how large this Black Marlin is?

He would have been released, but gave up the ghost after 5 and a half hours on 80 lb. stand up gear.

If I didn't know the guy squatting behind it is only 4' something tall, I would guess over 1,000 lbs.!!!

Give me a shout when you get a chance, we need to talk about a Montana game plan for this fall.

Looks like a BBQ sticking out of its mouth to me !!! Marlin fishing is about the only thing I can think of where the bait is actually more tasty than the fish you are after.

Good Grief Rooster.....
I was all stoked up over the 130 I caught 15 years ago until you came along...
It is a Black, and not that I keep up with the IGFA thing but that really looks like it could be a Grander!!! I didn't know they got that big! Might just be a funky pic tho'.............
Incredible fish, Tell us more....blow by blow...

B-run I couldn't agree more, we used to sashimi the king mackerel for lunch... and on a slow day BQ up 2 or 3 for dinner with slipper lobster

I'm guessing somewhere between 1016 and 1018 #'s........... but that's just a random guess ;\)

You know, if you had some pointy green shoes and a pointy green hat, I'd swear you'd be the Keebler elf!
