I am planning on camping at the Cowlitz in early may and floating down from there a few days in a row. Unless you want to go to the Wind, there is no better spot to catch the early springers and have a free capming spot in a nice area

If you want free camping on the cow then blue cr. is the spot. Barrier dam is $25.00 a nite for the trailers that they rent.I don't know how much it is to tent camp there. because I live 20 min from there.Blue cr. only has bathrooms bring your own firewood.Lake Mayfield has camping its about 15 min.east of the Barrier Dam.
