Anyone have better luck with any particulart type of shrimp pot? Beginner here, and have one square one, but thought it might be nice to invest in one more. So, before I went out and spent some money... You know, check for approval with the members of the board.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for the info! I think I saw a couple of those at Sport-co... Looked nice. I think your right on the money, they look to heavy to pull by hand, and with the water resistance... Well, I dont want shrimping to be TOTAL work, just kind of fun...

Thanks again, apreciate your help!

I had a conversation with a guy that thought the round ones were better.I liked his logic. He said with the round ones the shrimp will circle around the pot till they find an opening. With a square one they will go past the end of the pot then have to come back in search of an opening.Or maybe move on to another area.Sounded reasonable to me.

Triangle pot???

How about....

A Pyramid pot??? You put your bait in the bottom(detachable) and the top has an opening. Here's how it works, the shrimp smell the good stuff and then it's an all out race for the king of the pyramid. Unfortunately the first king and all successors end up in the trap! \:D

...as for placement of lines, that will have to be figured out somehow unless you have strong telekenetic powers and are able to use your mind to pull up the pot. ;\)
