Seeing all these pics of springers really got me itching to go out and catch some kings well here are some recent pics of our version of spring kings. We fish for them much differently that you guys it seems here but in the end they are the same fish \:\)

Beauties! What's the technique? Spoons off downriggers?

Your right Jim, those fish did come on riggers and spoons. But, to be honest in spring most of our kings come on planer boards and stick baits or planer boards with leadcore and flasher fly combos. They are my favorite hits trolling, it is like watching a float go under the water. The king hits and just starts screaming the other way and the board just disappears.

Hey DT, nice fish. Heading out with Kieth tomorrow for some of those badboys, what were the hot spoons?

Ah, but our springers (and most of our salmon for that matter) have a higher fat content and taste much, much, better. A diet of shrimp, krill, squid, herring, smelt, and anchovies make quite a fat, delicious fish! \:D
