What is your favorite bass rig? I prefer fishing deep water crankbaits or flippin jigs.

When I was more into it, nothing can beat a spinnerbait bite. Crank, crank, crank, and wham!!!

The power grub rules, for small mouth anyway. Tube jig is a close second

What could possibly be better than slow twitching a Rapala next to a lily pad on a mirror calm lake first thing in the morning?

I agree -For pure fun hard to beat surface action.

Buzz baits for largemouth - favorite color white.

Walking the dog for smallies - favorite plug- the Dalton special (frog).

and for the fly rod large deer hair poppers in the pads during low light situations.

The taking on any of the above is right up there with steelhead on the Dry!

Here's a fun one that I have used with success for fly fishing for bucket mouths. Try casting a spin n glow in front of your deer hair. It rides high on the surface and "blips" as the wings slap the surface, even on a slow retrieve.

First time I tried it, it produced a 6 and a half pounder out of Beecher Lake (almost in your back yard, Smalma).

Every good bass I've caught have all been on the same black buzzbait.
