Well, after 11 years the ol' floorboards were lookin' pretty shabby on the ol' Willie so I took out all the seats and power washed and sprayed some truck bed coating on it.

Looks pretty good and hope it will hold up for 11 more years.

Before paint.

After paint.

I'll do a picture after fishing in it Thursday and Friday and give ya my thoughts on the product. That will also show me where to do a little touch up or two.

rwgav8,

I bought it at a automotive parts store. Cut Rate Auto Parts in Aberdeen.

Truck Bed Coating made by Dupli-Color.

On the can it says: Abrasion resistant, quick drying, durable, non skid surface and I believe them.

The only color they had is black but if they had gray I would have gone with it. Black shows the scratches more than a lighter color.

Comes in a spray can (rattle can)

It covers about 15 square feet per can.

Cost $6.99 per can.

I used 4 1/2 cans and covered about 72 square feet.

Very easy to use.

I just pressure washed and waited for it to dry and masked off the edges and went for it. Probably could have done a better job but I had all the seats out and was going to take 2 days to do it but decided to go fishing the next day and it was ready. But. it would have been better to wait at least 1 day for it to cure better. Time will tell.

After fishing out of it the last 2 days it looks like it's gonna be a great product. Non-slip is good. My floors were in real need of some help and I'm sure this is the ticket without replacing all the flooring with diamond plate.

Good luck with your restoration but I don't think it will plug the rivets that you mentioned in the email.

Loaned out my digital camera so I'll post a finished product soon.

This is one of the products i was looking at. GI Joes & Cabelas has it for $50/gal. Cabelas also has a spray gun kit for $90 http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa...abelas%2Fen%2Fc ommon%2Fcatalog%2Fpod-link.jhtml.1_A&_DAV=search

From what yoru saying looks like I might have to use some type of sealer on any rivets or seams before I put this stuff down and it might be a bit cheaper to use the rattle can instead of the gallon size.

Thanks for the info and I look forward to seeing the pics when you post them

I've used a roll-on product called Herculiner on an old Chevy truck bed. Leaves a deeply textured coating with a very slight rubbery feel. Lasted fine for 5 years exposed to sun, snow and rain, then I passed the truck on to my brother.

I completely replaced the floor in my 19' Bayliner 2 years ago.. 3/4" A/B grade pressure treated no voids plywood (hard to find stuff, lifetime warranty against rot. Anyone interested let me know) topped with 2 layers of 8 oz fiberglass. For a finish, I bought a 2 part epoxy floor paint made by Valspar for $35 a gallon. (NOT the Rust-Oleum "epoxy" floor paint, that stuff is water based and not a true epoxy) For grip, I mixed in Interlux non-skid compound, and applied with a foam roller. Leaves a smooth and easy to clean, but still non-skid surface. I'm pretty happy with it's durability, with 2 seasons of use so far.

Nice job on the floor. Let me know when you get that warmwater spitter figured out for your Yamaha kicker.... we just got one for our boat, too. Looking forward to a nice warmwater rinse on those chilly Kenai mornings.

And the finished product. Looks like it's going to be an easy fix to an old floor.

Doc, I haven't had time to do the washdown yet but I'm sure I'm gonna do it soon. Where did you get the parts for yours?
