Mavrick, looks like you and your brother had quite the day. I'm jealous as all get out. Not only is the fishing good but it was warm weather and water. I was in Kona two years ago and loved it. Never got out fishing but plan to go back and try next winter/spring. Were you fishing with a guide and if so would you share the info? I've heard good and bad for charters so a good recommendation would be great.

Talk about some big time BBQ.. Tuna, Dorado and Wahoo... could there be a better combo ???? However, the picture of you with the bent rod sort of makes me sea sick.. see how flat that water is... I might puke on water like that.

JG, Fathers side of the family lives on the Big Island my bro's and i grew up going there quite often and have always have a goodtime! This is the 1st time the wife and I took our 2boys along, the 13yr old just wanted to hang at the beach across the street w/the local boys to board & snorkel and check out the girls(instead of fish, go figure ) , my 6yr old and my bro's 4yr old just wanted to hang at the pool (it's a shark thing?)at the house and go to the Fun Factory! While the wives' just laid out & shopped(go figure )We all had an awsome 2wks in Kona! can't wait till next year or the next! Hoghunter, when you plan to go let me know i'll give you some good #'s. Chaser, Cabo has some awsome fishing also! the 2nd Billfish(Blues & Black Marlin) capitol in the world, Kona being 1st IMO, more Granders(1000lbrs'+) have come out of Kona waters than anywhere else. Cabo is where i caught & landed my 1st big Blue (350lb'r)and lost my biggest (700+ lb'r) Blue. your gonna have a blast! although it is not primetime for the big Blues and Blacks right now there is quite a bit of Stripped Marlin and Sailfish there now and plenty of Dorado and Bluefin Tuna to keep you in the saddle! have fun, wish i was going!

Hey Mavrick, looks like you had a great time too, albeit a little warmer temp than we experienced. I remember the last time I was in Hawaii, and fought those Mahi and Yellowfin, they are some tough cookies. I always thought they would blow up an ambassador or similar salmon reel with their tenacity. Lets talk soon, getting to be that time of year again.

Good Pics,Good Eatens,Good Times... I lived at the white sands Condos, down the road from Capt cook inlet? I worked at Big Island toyota for a few years and was deckhand on some Boats from town, ended up buying into the Puka Ki, Sundowner, as my Brother was captain on both boats for many years. Won/Placed in a few tourneys but never scored in the HIBT, I had a blast catching Ono, Mahi, small sailfish, all on a 9.0 Lamiglass Heavy action and a 6500 Abu, and 15lb maxima. I am going back this year to wet a line for for a week or so. Im glad you caught some REAL GROCERIES, and had fun Even with the wife around (Go Figure). Nice Pics....
