Try the mouth of the Physt at pilar Point in the mud flats.

I know there is a ton of them out there you could get a dozen out of every two times you stick the shovel in or so.

I was out there last year and saw all the holes so I dug to see what they were from. Found sand shrimp galor!

I never went tried agian as I dont use that many shrimp not enough to make the trip anyways.

Dont know if its a place you are aloud to dig em but if your into it its worth finding out.

Didnt post this before as I hadnt really thought about it but I know some of you like to get your own.

Just about any mud flat will have them... We get them pretty regular on hood canal when digging steamers.

I remember as a kid sloggin thru the mud flats at westport, getting a bunch of sandshrimp for bait, and then hitting the surf on the incoming tide for surf perch.

The perch made pretty good jerky when salted and dried.

For steelhead though... $3 bucks a dozen is easily worth a few hours sleep.
