Could have gone fishing a lot closer but one has to feel like you are getting away a little. The fishing was very good and the kids enjoyed catching the little buggers.

Dads got to relax and enjoy the time away. Wierd thing happened S

Saturday night though. The resort on the other end of the lake suddenly lit up about Ten PM with a huge fire, Figured it was an RV by the nature of the blaze.

Does anyone know anything about it? We were hoping no one was hurt.

Other than that, a successful and memorable weekend. Hope others had a good opener.

I was going to try and help you post them, but couldn't find them in the upload gallery. Did you upload them?

We were at the other end of the lake over the weekend. The huge fire wasn't an RV. The last couple years a group of about 100 idiots starts a HUGE fire on Saturday night. Last year they lit up a stack of about 25-30 pallets. This year we watched them build a wood structure about 20' tall. We couldn't figure out what they were up to until Saturday night, when they torched it off. They had flames about 50' in the air,and it ended up catching the grass on fire in a circle about 100' across.

The worst part is there is no cell coverage out there,or they would have had a visit from the Sheriff. \:\( They get so fricken drunk they have no idea what could happen if they didn't get the grass fire stomped out.

At that end of the lake fires aren't even allowed from Apr. 1st until oct. 31. Most people ignore the fire ban,and continue to have small fires at night.

Thanks for the info on the fire. I spoke to a Douglas County deputy about it the next day and he knew nothing. Our resort had our share of idiots too. Bunch of guys about college age seemed to think the resort was Cancun on spring break.

Partied till around three AM....The resort management bails before dark so there was no one there to check it. I spoke to the boys and they were all part of a big reunion group. I let em know I was not happy. Since they are all coming back next year. We'll probably pick a different lake.
