I fished with a guy Sunday that used to fish the BASS ciruit, and he said that it wasn't uncommon for guys to lose props while staying at hotels during tournaments. I guess those things get spendy.

Maybe they should go to pumps. ;\)

In the late 80's along the water front of the t Johns river in jacksonville Fla. the thieves late at night were pulling up to boat hoists and using chain saws to quickly cut the motor completely off the boat. the would escape into the night quick and lightless.

Just hate see hear about people that have so little respect for others as to steal! If these weak, lazy, worthless scum want something they need to get their lazy butts a job and earn the money like everybody else!
Sorry for the rant, but this is one of those things that gets my hackles up every time!

Used to happen occasionally when I lived on a canal on Long Island, NY. They would sneak around in rowboats at night and only take stainless props (not much resale on aluminum, I guess) Since pretty much all stainless props are polished and shiny, the smart cookies among us would spray paint 'em black or white to hide.

I heard that one of the props that was stolen was worth $2000 bucks! Man, that would really be a bummer for sure!!!

Aunty, those boat alarms just end up PO'ing the neighbors when a cat or a gust of wind set them off night after night. I looked into them when I used to live in Seattle and would get prowled on a regular basis. They're available now, just finding the right sensitivity setting is a little tricky I guess.
