Hired a guide and went Sturgeon fishing yesterday. WOW, my arms and shoulders are mush. We caught close to 40 fish. One was about 8-9 feet, we also released a 63" and about 20 in the 44-48" range. All our fish we kept were in the 50" range. This was my first sturgeon trip and it wont be the last. They were rolling everywhere. There were times we were yelling FISH ON every 10-15 minutes. It was an awesome day. Do any of you have a good recipe for sturgeon????

where did you go? I always cut my sturgeon into 1 or 2 inch chunks, dip them into egg and roll them in Panko, then deep fry.

We launced out of the Oregon side called the "Fisheries". Then headed towards Bonneville Dam. Our guide placed us in a hole that he marked with a telephone pole. We had boats above, below and to our sides. We outfished them 5 to 1. I dont want to use Bobs site for advertisement but will be glad to give you the guides name if you ever want to use him. Thanks for the recipe, I'll try it this weekend

I have always used this dressing called "golden dipt." Used to get it in the seafood department at QFC or Safeway. Comes in Cajun and regular flavor. Both are good. You bake the fish so it is a bit healthier. Last time couple of times my wife tried to find it at QFC she couldn't. Might still be at Safeway.

My buddy double deep fries his. This is even better. Best fish and chips ever.

Sounds like a great trip.

Just bring 7-up to a rolling boil, cut the fish in 1" chunks and toss it in the boiling 7-up. It will turn white and float when it is done. About 4 or 5 minutes cooking time. Dip it in melted Tillimook salted butter with a few drops of garlic. mmmmmm

Did you fish with Dave that day?
