Saw on another post that you were headed to the san juans for lings and I was wondering how ya did?? What areas ?? Bait?? Cute chicks on other boats?? anything that could help a first time san juan ling chaser!

We took a boat ride out to Patos Island. Fished jigs and herring. I came home with a 13 lb'er. We caught and released 10 or 12 lings all together. Was surprized by the number of shrimp pots out near Parker reef.

You found my reef? Oh man! There goes my super zipper lip private reef!

Patos is a spot where you can fish 40 feet from shore and be in 100' of water. There are lots of places near Washington Park to fish lings.

Well come on now Jerry, to some people Neah Bay is close to Washington park, it is all a matter of prespective! I have never taken my boat to the San Juan Islands (first time I had a boat big enough) so any help with land marks, near this place or that would help. I do have charts and have been able to locate most of the areas mentioned but any places you would like to throw out would be a help.
Looking at going out next Thursday, tides look pretty good.

fished Saturday in the 'Juans, brought home 2 keeper lings on the small side, released 5 or 6 undersize fish and lost 3 large fish
