Can these be purchased online? I've read on this board that you need to go up and purchase them in person but I just talked to a friend of a friend who just bought his online somewhere. I am waiting for him to send me the link before I believe it.

There are a couple of shops that will send you a licsense via mail. The one I use has to have met you in person before.

A lot. I might be spending about $150 (possib;y more) this year for the package just for 2 weeks of fishing while on vacation. That's saltwater, freachwater, salmon, and steehead.

How much for just a saltwater to get halibut?

Got mine today in Victoria. Took my wife on a "Date" . Nice walk on ferry ride, lunch , and a pleasant walk around Victoria, stopping at Capitol Iron for licences. Great day!!!
Nonresident saltwater with salmon stamp, $108.07, plus $.60 dealer fee, plus $.56 PST, plus$7.60 GST. Total= $116.83 Canadian
$0.726/$1 exchange = $84.82 USD

Anyone know what time period is covered by the annual license? Is it Jan to Dec or something different??

Canadian licences are April 1 to March 31.

DFO just sent out a press release stating that they will have online licensing has of June 8. So check out their web site after that date.
