Actually, be my guest. If you like not being able to hold, or not being able to see the tips of your oars. It's been raining in Gold Bar for 5 days solid. The most consistant rain I've seen here in A LONG time. Mother nature has a strange way of screwing up the river openers sometimes. It look

Too much rain, river is blown out.
Don't think the Sky will be fishable on opening day.

Skagit opens for trout on the 1st. Some big Dolly's (which I enjoy to CnR) are hanging out.

It's shot right now...been muddy. Visibility is nil. Blown out as bad as it was after the flood in Oct. Might be a quite a few days before its worth fishing, presuming the rain stops soon.

So, instead I've got a trip booked with Scott over at Three Rivers on the OP for Sat. 12th. Taking my dad (he's 70) for his BD and as a Father's Day thing for us both.

First time for dad in a DB (or on a river) and hopefully we can find some Springers or SR Steelies..

Mike

Hope you and your father have an excellent trip OP trip!
Hopefully, you two will get to play some quality springers there.
I fished the sol duc in February and it was awesome native fishery.
Good Luck!

Did you guys relly get that much rain? We got a little down here, but my home water is still only flowing at a whopping 400 cfs, and probably only half of that by opening day. Any chance you could send some water our way?

As I live on the Sky, I monitor it every 5 minutes. Not by choice, but because it's hard to miss when it's outside your window. It's painful to watch it rise in front of your very eyes. Especially when it isn't raining . It's bad news.

'm curious to see the size of the floatilla tomorrow morning. I imagine every Tom-Dickhead-&-Harry will still be fighting for position at the boat launch. I'm going to pull up a lawn chair, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the circus-vargas that will be the high-bridge on tuesday. Then when all of the dinks make their fishless pilgrimage downriver, I might throw the boat in anyway. Good luck to the good-ole'-boys out there!
