Eggs or sandshrimp, take your pick.

Find the right hole and you might be able to plunk a wrapped K-15 also.

I have actually never caught one from a boat on the Sky, only on the bank. Even when I was in a boat all day, got on the bank to drift fish and caught them.

Eggs are first choice, but try Bottom bouncing a pink corkie and shrimp tail through some fast water at the bottom of a rapid.

edit, I take that back, I have had a big king on in the hole right under high bridge on a plug while we were tying up some gear, lost him though.

I would love to hook into a Sky Chinook this summer. Don't matter if it's from a boat or banking it. I've never played a Sky Chinook.
Hopefully, this is the year for me to get into one.
I'm so prepared to play Sky Chinooks!!

Sky steelies are becoming rare species these days.

You can catch Kings on the sky just have to find a good hole were there wont be ten boats and everybody and their mother fishing it. You got to be patient when fishing them re because they are going up river fast. Talked to the guys up at the wallace hatchery on friday and they said they are constantly recycling fish down to the LSB. They told me the fish they have been getting are bright chrome and are even seeing them with sealice so that means they are just cruising through the sky you just have to get lucky. I caught one on friday about ten lb hen and had another one on the day of the opening. Just find a deep hole and consistently work it. Or you can just go snag the fish like everybody and their mother at the mouth of the wallace.
