I just purchased an Imx 1141s, and wanted to know what reel everybody likes best? What size of reel makes the rod balance out the best?

How many use the 1141 for winter fish? Thanks in advance.....Ross

Why spend a ton of duckets on a nice reel, when you just wasted a ton of duckets on a loomis. Seems to me, I'd try to save money on a reel, which I could later use to pay for shipping when my loomis breaks

I'll chime in on this one.

I own, and have used both the Diawa Capricorn 2500 and Shimano Sustain 2500 with my IMX 1141s.

As someone who hates Shimano reels, I really like the Sustain over the Capricorn.

The Sustain is WAY more balanced on the 1141 over the Capricorn. Hands down.

To me, any ways, the Sustain is lighter, better balanced, smoother, nicer, has a better drag, over the Capricorn. Line capacity might be a tad bit less on the Sustain, but hey, if you can afford these reels, you can afford the 1000 yard spool of whatever line you are using.

My poor 1 year old Diawa Capricorn reel has now been delegated to Backup Status.

Oh, I killed the only Laguna I've ever touched on one fishing trip. Promptly returned it for the Capricorn. Don't bother with cheap reels.

Just my .02 worth.
