What is everyone using? I built my own last year,( about 15 lbs of lead pored into a large soup can). Didn't work very well. Do the plastic coated river anchors work? Looking for the smallest one possible with the best holding ability. I have a 9' ODC 915.

I have a 10# pyramid for my 10' pontoon. It is too small so I need to get a bigger one, probably 15#.

A fishing friend (Thanks Brian) made me one to match my 11' pontoon boat. It is a pyramid shape, weighs about 17# and is wrapped with a green vinyl covering (the covering may cause a little bouyancy so I think it compares to 15#). It works great, I can stop in fairly fast water and when it ain't in the water, it just hangs there looking good'.

Go with a 20# pyramid anchor. If 20# won't stop you in a pontoon, then you don't want to anchor there.

15 pyramid, dont like to anchor though in the toon. Often I never bring it. Just use boat for transpo and wade the best runs.

I use a 10# pyriamid and it works just fine. I use the pontoon for transportation and wade from there. Why take the extra weight in anchor when your not going to anchor up in a hole.

Thanks all for your suggestions. RWGAV8, thats the problem I"ve been having, (packing all the weight needed to stop in faster water) hinders the performance of the boat . I pack enough weight with all my fishing gear as it is . I think I will purchas a 10lb pyriamid for back bouncing and use the bank more. Thanks again.
