I don't know if that is good or bad. Uncle Joe would be the one that could probably answer this question.

I'm still looking for those All Star titanium models. I haven't been to a store that carries them yet.

No, it is not a good thing , all of us current reps will be replaced, just like a typical corporate buyout. Its to bad, but they made Brett an offer he could not refuse so you can't blame the guy. The reason they bought Allstar is they wanted to have a high end rod that was made in the U.S.A. in there fold. Since all the other stuff they make is made in China and is Junk.
The Titaniums are in some stores now, those that have ordered them, if your favorite store hasn't ask them to order you one and we will get it handeld.
All I hope is that they keep the factory in Houston and dont box it up and send it overseas like alot of other rod companies have.

Peace
Superfly

Superfly is 100 percent correct. Shakespeare wanted to break into the US made high end rod market and they bought them out to get sort of a jump in their marketing. Zebco did the same thing by buying Van Staal.

the tackle market is not getting any larger and the only way to do more business is to buy out any companies you can. That's how many companies are doing it now. Shimano/G.Loomis, Sage/Redington, Pure Fishing with all the brands names they own, etc.
