Salmon fishing doesn't start until Sunday the 27th so if we want to fish Saturday it is a bottomfishing show. I've never tried bottom fishing out of Westport and would appreciate any input. This is not a request for a charter boat but fishing on my own boat. thanks in advance.

Can you start at La Push and then trailer to Westport?? La Push has tons of bottom-fish. The rock formations at the south of the bay have tons, as does Carrol Island to the north.

Theres and area called the goldfish bowl straight out, you can find it on the charts it looks like a bowl on the contours. Other than that you need to run north past Ocean Shores to the pinacles, (underwater mountains). You can se'em on the graph as your running most of them hold fish. Run about 2 miles off shore. Point Grenville is a little farther run north but also is good around the rocks.
