Here's George speyrodding the Ditch. He's chasing one downstream in this pic. He hooked three on the fly on our quick little jaunt:

Here's a bribery pic too. After we showed him around for a bit, I ran down to tide and the kings were boiling through. I threw a gear rod in his hand with a big glob of eggs. We bounced up about 10 kings in about half an hour:

He did say that I do officially have the worst looking pair of Simm's waders that he's ever seen \:\) I kinda figured so ... most of the clients that do turnarounds with me seem to agree when I hop in their car ;\)

Was fun to chase some kingers with the bugrod in the nasty water we have (for real, not AK "flyfishing" style) and get into a few fish.

I'm not sure what to think. Sparky using a huge glob of eggs?!? I just don't know. At least he tried to save himself by catching a few on the spey rod.

edit: Looking at the pics now, I realize that it's not Sparky, my bad. I knew that it wasn't so! \:D

George scored this big boy on the Kenai before the Killey took her out a couple days later. AWESOME!

I hate to break the news to you lead thrower, but you are understating "looks like too much fun" when it comes to backbouncing up Ditch Kings.

For first timers, it goes something like this:

You: "Is this a bite?"
Bob: "No."
You: "Was that a bite?"
Bob: "No. Arctic Char."
You: "AAAAAH! Something just yanked the rod out of my hands and I peed my pants!!!!"
Bob: "That was a bite. At least I didn't have to tell you to wait...wait...wait."

Actually it goes something like this:

Bob: Pay attention to your rod, there will many many more bold eagles to take a picture of.
...
Bob: Pay attention to the rod, its only a moose trying to cross.
....
Bob: Pay attention to the rod, its a bear but it won't show in the picture.

Bob: Pay attention to the rod, you can eat the sandwich later. \:D

Bob is a cool guy
