I'm heading up for halibut this Saturday and am needing a place to stay for 6 guys. Any help/advice on where you'd recommend would be greatly appreciated. Cabin or motel, really doesn't matter.

Thanks.

None of the rooms or cabins in Sekiu are very nice, but you probably don't care because you're guys. We've stayed at at the Straitside resort the last few years, and the rooms pretty decent. The room we get has two twin beds,a queen bed and a queen size pull out couch. You might want to check them out.

Olsons was able to set us up. Real nice people there so far.
The real kicker was that to rent a cabin most places require you to stay at least two nights this time of year and we only needed one night.

Thanks for the help.

I couldn't disagree more with promoting Chris as a host. I had to cancel a stay with them last year due to my Father learning of his leukemia. I was promptly hung up on after telling him this. He could care less what the issue is because his concern is money...bottom line. Give me a rat hole with a nice host any day.

I've been fishing there most of my life and gave up on Olsons long ago. If they weren't the only on the water gas I personally wouldn't give them a dime of my money. I've never had a problem with Chris at Van Ripers and have always been treated right. Plus Chris actually likes to fish and is good at it. From my experience Olsons are the money grabbers not Van Ripers.

I'll be sure to post my experience after this weekend. We'll be staying in Olson's double-wide and only for one night. For six guys at under twenty bucks a head I didn't think it was that bad of a deal.
I am actually fishing out of Neah Bay on Sunday for cheesehead halis but one of the guys in our party refuses to stay anywhere near the Makah nation so Sekiu it is. I've never stayed in Sekiu so it will be an interesting trip.
Any idea how long the drive is from Olsons to Neah Bay in the morning? Also, any decent places to get a meal in Sekiu?
Thanks for the responses.
