Has anybody out there tried the Cabelas semi synthetic TC-W3 oil? If so, does it really produce less smoke than the Quicksilver oil?

I have not tried the cabelas synthetic, and I haven't mixed oil for awhile (4 strokes yeah! ) but when I did have a 2 stroke the synthetics did not smoke as much as dino oil.

I have only used it in a 9.9 Johnson, but I didn't notice the difference until a buddy gassed the tank after using it and used conventional oil. There was a smokey difference right away, and it wasn't long before I had a fouled plug.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try the synthetic and see what happens. Really tired of fouled plugs and emphazema!

one word AMSOIL

Amsoil is NOT TWC-3 approved, and will void your warranty. Look carefully at the label, it says "For TWC-3 Applications", but it is not approved. Check on the NMAA website, it is not in their approval list.
